If there was a weight for demagoguery in the Balkans, you can really see it in what the consequences of the leader who exercises it bring. In Kurt’s case things are showing a lot more. In addition to the great disappointment for a former opposition leader who once followed with his followers whoever he labeled as an opponent, and today he arrests them violently, but more to this is added the senseless direction he is making towards his country and above it. all that he once proclaimed as the cause.
And, there are still a few more days to rejoice in the great victory bestowed on the extreme naivete of the people in short, who in fact deserved a hitherto unproven direction. However, the inertia of the electoral success of the politician Kurti and his collaborator, Osmani, showed that they were merely mediators of the desires and hopes of the future of Kosovars, but by no means liberators of their boundless worries.
In recent days, Kosovar colleagues have mentioned many things, but it is worrying that the man who asked for transparency in detail, failed to do in 100 days of her work, or as Kosovars put it, a bit of transparency: “The only one so far who has not published the Work Plan for three months.”

But the most painful approach was what happened to Deçan in recent days and the extreme delay in the confrontation, where Prime Minister Kurti was attending a seminar in Greece and is still traveling abroad, in one of the most difficult moments of his rule. . It would take three full days for his government to finally react to a city that is only 100 kilometers away from Prishtina and with the consequences of great poisoning of the public !!!
““One of the paradoxes of demagoguery is that it is both shameless and obsessed with honor.”, writes – Patricia Roberts-Miller, in “Demagoguery and Democracy”. And the shame that comes from the kind of demagogues is related to instability, the inability to reasonably defend, because in fact they have already evaded the principles of the past or by attacking opponents who actually oppose and who openly bring them before their so-called honor.
Albania’s relations with Kosovo have never been more embarrassing, under the leadership of Albin Kurti, who speaks of demagoguery for the nation. And, Albania and Kosovo never have this kind of absurd division and lack of cooperation, even when Albania offers a helping hand. Fortunately, the Albanians here and there on the border are neither Kurti nor Rama.
However, for Kurti things are normal. At the government meeting, held on June 30, Prime Minister Kurti counted the achievements of 100 days of his rule: “144 decisions have been made and that the priority of his government, initially was the management of the pandemic. “The basic promises for pandemic management have been fulfilled.”. Here he closed quietly that he did the right thing.
In the coming days we will have other announcements about Kurti, but the weight of demagogues like him is immeasurable. We saw this in the language of violence he used in the last hours against his former party members, who already have their own party PSD but also with the events in Deçan. Even more, demagoguery is one of those things that has overwhelmed Albanians for decades. A man, like Kurti, who has so much power today should know from his formation. Otherwise, it will be considered even an even worse extension of its predecessors.
