US President Joe Biden will meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as part of the NATO Summit on June 14, where they will discuss bilateral and regional issues, the White House announced, Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a written statement that US President Biden will travel to Britain, Belgium and Switzerland this month as part of his first overseas visit.
Stating that Biden would underline the US commitment to rebuild alliances, revive transatlantic relations and work closely with allies and other partners, Psaki noted that the US president will meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on June 10th.
Psaki said Biden will attend the G7 Summit in Cornwall, UK on June 11-13, where he will focus on issues such as public health, economic recovery and climate change, and where he will hold bilateral meetings.
She also announced that the US President will meet with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Palace on June 13, and after this meeting, he will go to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, for the NATO Summit, writes AA.
Psaki stressed that on June 14, NATO leaders will be advised on how to deal with future threats and on effective burden-sharing, adding that “Biden will also meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss many bilateral and regional issues ”.
On June 15, US President Biden will attend the US-European Union summit in Brussels and meet with Belgian King Philippe and Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.
From Brussels, Biden will travel to Geneva, Switzerland, on June 16 to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In Switzerland, Joe Biden will also meet with the President of the Swiss Confederation Guy Parmel and the Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.
