A 500-kilogram bomb has been defused in France, evacuating 1,800 citizens from their homes, French media report.
According to authorities, it is learned that the bomb belongs to World War II.
The bomb, dropped by the British Air Force in March 1944 during the destruction of factories located in the town of La Ricamari, was discovered in April 2020, during earthworks.
As it posed no danger to residents, the bomb had been buried three meters underground by relevant teams in Lyon, pending its neutralization, which took place today.
