The Ministry of Infrastructure has decided to suspend the decision on the 5 euro ticket for vehicle registration.
The news was announced by the Deputy Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi.
“Today I have made a decision to suspend the agreement on sticky tickets until a final decision is made on this issue. “After signing the agreement and the great attention of the public opinion, I found documents and reports that are contradictory to each other”, wrote Durmishi.
He emphasized that “I am based on two important documents before signing the agreement and they are: the report of the internal auditor of the ministry and the opinion of the legal office of the Prime Minister dated 20.01.2020, harmonized with the legal offices of MI, MPA and MD ”. Durmishi stressed that the final decision will be made after reviewing the functioning of the ministry’s internal control systems and standards.
In the plenary session that is being held in the Assembly of Kosovo, the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, spoke, who said that citizens will not pay 5 euros for stickers on vehicles.
“Once the decision has been made to suspend and we will examine in detail how this decision was reached… From legal interpretations, and interpretations by the auditor, to the moment of signing… One thing he can provide is that citizens will not to pay 5 euros “, said Aliu in front of the deputies.
There have been objections from opposition parties to the placement of the sticker.
The President of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj had said that citizens should protest against this decision.

This decision benefits a private business and its affiliated individuals, emptying the pockets of citizens with about 2 million euros per year, which do not go to the state budget.
