The number of coronavirus deaths in India has exceeded 300,000.
Experts warn that the real death toll could be much higher, as many deaths have not been officially reported.
India has recorded 26 million cases – the second largest after the United States – and is now the epicenter of the global pandemic.
It is also the third country in the world to have more than 300,000 victims – after the United States and Brazil.
It took India less than a month to record the last 100,000 deaths.
The second wave of the pandemic has overwhelmed the health system of this state, as hospitals have struggled to cope with the influx of patients and lack of oxygen.
In some areas even the crematoria were crowded and people were forced to create makeshift crematoria in the parks, for their families.
Currently, the vaccination rate is not making much progress in India either, which could help alleviate the crisis.
