Masha Mezenina is a Russian girl by profession ‘Make up artist’. At a very young age her family emigrated to Canada, the country where she fell in love with an Albanian boy.
This became the main reason for Masha to leave Canada for Albania. In an interview on the show “Sunbeam” on Report Tv she showed that for more than a year she has moved to Albania.
“Since the time of the pandemic we came to Albania, I used to say ‘yes Canada is the perfect place to live’ but after the pandemic things have become very bad, there is not much freedom for people so coming to Albania has been the opening of a door to do what we want to do.
For a year we could not work in Canada. Coming to Albania gave us the opportunity to work again so I can do everything I do in film, make up. “All these things have been possible here,” she said.
Asked about the changes she noticed in Albania when she came, she said that she did not suffer any cultural shock as Russia and Albania are culturally similar countries:
“In fact, I think that since I was born in Russia and lived for several years, then I visited it every summer, coming to Albania made me not have a cultural friend, so when I came here I said” here you are as in Russia ”. Because all the buildings of the communist period are very similar, there is great Russian influence in Albania according to history and it was like ‘oh oh I’m at home’.
Masha also showed some interesting details of what Albanians and Albania like most:
“Albanians are very clean, but very, very clean. You should be very proud because I have never entered an Albanian house and I am unhappy.
Albanians are very free people, they are very hospitable wherever people go to help, host and families as well. “My boyfriend’s family has welcomed me a lot, you are similar to the Russians,” she said.
