For the third time in the company’s short history, OnePlus found itself in new trouble over the performance of its phones.
Recently a research found that OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 reduce the performance of Snapdragon 888 processor in applications like Chrome, Twitter and WhatsApp.
However what the research found was that neither the OnePlus 9 Pro nor the OnePlus 9 manipulated the performance test figures.
Shortly after the report published by AnandTech, GeekBench, one of the most popular performance testing tools conducted its own investigation and decided to expel the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro from the test results.
“It is disappointing to see OnePlus set performance based on the app name instead of its behavior,” the company said. “We see this as a form of manipulation.”
Recall that with the OnePlus 3T the company had put a code in OxygenOS that artificially increased the frequency of the Snapdragon processor where the smartphone was tested in applications such as GeekBench.
However in this case the situation is different because OnePlus reduces performance to maintain battery life and users will not notice any change, stall or slowdown. / PCWorld Albanian
