The first European country to lift anti-COVID restrictions is Iceland. Reuters reports that restrictions will be lifted from Saturday.
The measures imposed so far have included restrictions on public gatherings, wearing masks and a two-meter distance rule between people.
“We are restoring the society in which we are used to living and for which we have a great desire.”– said the Minister of Health Svandis Svavarsdottir.
According to the government, 87% of Icelanders have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, which shows it is the highest among other European countries.
