There has been a lot of commotion in the neighboring country, the release from prison of Giovanni Bruscas, the man hiding behind the assassination attempt on the Cpaci massacre, left Judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife and three bodyguards dead.
Brusca, known by the nickname “pig”, is said to be the perpetrator of over 150 murders, including that of an 11-year-old boy, whose body he melted with acid. He was arrested in 1996, and a few years later, was declared a penitent of justice and helped identify and apprehend other perpetrators of the dangerous Cosa Nostra mafia.
After leaving, Brusca, gave an exclusive interview to Corriere della Sera in Italy.
He has expressed his remorse for everything he has done in the past. He apologized to the families and relatives of the victims, adding that it has created a lot of pain and sadness. Among other things, he apologized to his wife and son, who according to Bruscas have suffered immensely from his mistakes.
“I thought and decided to give this interview: I do not know where it will take me, what will happen, I just hope to understand. I decided to do this to close the ‘accounts’ with myself too, because the time has come to show my face, even if I can not for security reasons, but deep inside me in the goal is to do it.
I want to apologize to all the relatives of the victims, to whom I have created so much pain and sadness.
I have tried in recent years as a collaborator of justice to give my contribution, as much as possible, and to give an explanation at least to many persons seeking truth and justice.
And I apologize to my son and wife, who for my fault have suffered and are also paying indirectly for what my elections were: first as a member of the mafia, then as a collaborator of justice, because unfortunately in our country those who cooperate with justice are always denigrated, despised, when on the contrary I believe it is a very important choice of life, moral, judicial but above all human. Because it allows us to put an end to this, the Cosa Nostra, which I call a death chain, a death plant, neither more nor less. A constant agony “, said Brusca in the confession.
