About one in five Americans who have been reluctant to get vaccinated against Covid-19 have changed their minds and have already taken the first doses, according to a survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation published on CNN.
People who have been reluctant to get vaccinated have initially been skeptical about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine. About 92% of people who have initially hesitated have already been vaccinated. 54% of people waiting for the second dose were fully vaccinated and 24% of people who hesitated to get vaccinated in January were forced to get vaccinated.
36% of people who decided to be vaccinated said that they changed their mind from relatives who had already been vaccinated. About a quarter of those vaccinated said they believed in the effectiveness of the vaccine.
While 8% were vaccinated due to pressure from relatives.
