Austria is lowering its age-appropriate priority for vaccination against COVID-19, with family doctors now able to decide at their discretion who should get the vaccine, Health Minister Wolfgang Mueckstein announced today.
“Now the vaccination machine is starting properly“, – he said referring to the expansion of acceptability.
According to foreign media, Mueckstein added that the government was awaiting soon the EMA approval of the BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine for children between the ages of 12 and 15.
To date, about 40% of Austrians aged 16 and over have received at least one dose of the anti-Covid vaccine.
