Supermodel Bella Hadid, who suffers from Lyme disease, has confirmed that she will take a step back to focus more on her health.
Her model sister Gigi Hadid broke the news that Bella had undergone intensive treatment for the disease and was said to be fully focused on her health.
The 26-year-old, who recently ended her relationship with boyfriend Marc Kalman, returned to Instagram on Sunday to reveal and explain her health struggle in her own words, saying she’s taking a step back . She wrote a lengthy note to explain the situation and offered an update on her health:
“My little suffering self would be so proud that she raised me and that I didn’t give up on myself”.
That’s how the model chose to begin by captioning an Instagram post, sharing a series of images of doctors’ reports and photos of herself receiving IV treatments for the disease.
“Thanks to my mom for keeping all my medical records, for being by my side, never leaving me, protecting me, supporting me, but most of all, believing in me through it all. Living in this condition, getting worse with time and work, while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me proud, had damaged me in ways I can’t explain. Being so sad and sick with so many blessings/privileges/opportunities/love around me was probably the most confusing thing ever“.
She continued:
“One thing I want to tell you all is that 1: I’m fine and you don’t have to worry, and 2: I wouldn’t change a thing for the world. If I had to go through all of this again, to get here, to this very moment that I am in right now, with all of you, finally healthy, I would do it all over again. It made me who I am today“.
