Apple has hired former BMW CEO Ulrich Kranz. The news came from Bloomberg on Thursday saying he joined Apple in recent weeks.
Kranz has spent 30 years at BMW leading the company in developing the i3, BMW’s first fully electric car.
After leaving BMW in 2017, Kranz went to Faraday Future, the same year that the electric car startup ended up in serious financial trouble.
After four months Kranz left Faraday to co-found Canoo, a company that built the MPDV1 electric car.
In 2020, the idea of buying a startup was rumored at Apple. Based on Kranz’s LinkedIn profile, he left Canoo in April. His approach from Apple is a clear attempt by Apple to build a self-driving electric car. / PCWorld Albanian
