Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic was appointed head of the Bureau for Operational Coordination this Saturday.
Local media suggest that the bureau will be in charge of executing and implementing the National Security Council conclusions.
According to the media, that body, which will be responsible for defining the tasks of the intelligence sector and coordinating the activities of the bodies, was formed during the meeting of the National Security Council.
Abazovic, who is also the security services co-ordinator, received the support of almost the entire composition of the Council.
Montenegro received such a body for the first time as members are the directors of the National Security Agency and the Police Directorate, the Directorate for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, the Chiefs of General Staff of the Montenegrin Army, Department of Military Intelligence and Security Affairs. Security and the Director General of the Directorate for Protection and Security Oversight of the Ministry of Interior.
