While visiting the Poganovo Monastery, where he spoke with Bishop Vasilije and the clergy, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuçiç, stated that he had not read the latest letters on the “non-paper” talking about the autonomy of northern Kosovo and that he did not want listen to Pristina requests regarding monasteries in Kosovo. He said Serbia would preserve them.
Asked to comment on the Kosovo Government’s requests to remove four monasteries from the UNESCO-listed endangered monuments category, Vucic said “let them do their job, we will do ours”.
When asked if this scares him, he said he is not scared, but said he feels worried.
“Nothing scares me, but it worries me, we will fight and save Deçan, Gracanica, the Patriarchate of Peja,” said Vucic.
