Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi was second in the world in terms of the volume of smartphones sold in the second quarter of 2021, thus surpassing the iPhone giant according to the firm Canalys.
Xiaomi had 17% of the global smartphone market, ahead of Apple with 14% and behind Samsung with 19%.
The Chinese company posted a 83% increase in sales compared to 15% for Samsung and 1% for Apple.
Xiaomi is already targeting the high-end smartphone segment. Earlier this year it launched the Mi 11 Ultra, a premium smartphone with a starting price of $ 928.
With this price, Xiaomi is placed opposite Apple and Samsung in the premium segment, although rivals Oppo and Vivo are gaining ground in China. / PCWorld Albanian
