The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vuçi., Said that the Serbian delegation goes with “the greatest confidence” to Brussels, where on July 19 the next round of talks for the normalization of Kosovo-Serbia relations will be held.
“We want to talk, to solve concrete problems, from missing persons and everything else. “I think progress is needed, but if it is possible, we will see,” Vucic said.
A day earlier, the European Union – as a mediator in the dialogue – confirmed that a new round of talks at the highest political level would be held on 19 July.
“This summit will focus on discussions on the progress made, on the next steps in the dialogue, which is important for the European perspective of Kosovo and Serbia,” said EU spokesman Peter Stano.
The meeting will be the second between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
At the June 15 meeting, the two officials did not agree on anything, but agreed to continue the meetings.
Disputes between them relate especially to the formation of the Association of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo.
Kurti said earlier that there can be no mono-ethnic association in Kosovo.
The Serbian side insists that Kosovo must implement the Association Agreement.
The Kosovar side, on the other hand, says that there are a number of agreements reached in the dialogue, which the Serbian side does not properly implement, including, according to it, the agreement on border control, recognition of diplomas, freedom of movement and others. ./REL
