The police have ascertained a series of irregularities during the controls in the main axes of the country.

Violations found include speeding up to 180 km / h, drunk driving, erroneous overtaking and dangerous maneuvers on the road, use of a mobile phone at the wheel and not wearing a seat belt.

For these irregularities, the Police has arrested in flagrante delicto 8 drivers, 5 for driving while intoxicated and 3 for driving without a license. A total of 57 driving licenses have been suspended, and thousands of fines have been imposed.

Speeding beyond the allowed norms up to 180 km / h, driving while intoxicated and under the influence of alcohol, wrong overtaking and dangerous maneuvers on the road, use of the mobile phone behind the wheel and not wearing a seat belt, these violations ascertained during the last 24 hours by the Operational Unit of the Traffic Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Traffic Police Commissariat in DVP Tirana and with the Traffic Police Sectors in 11 Local Police Directorates in the national road axes and in the urban centers.

During the last 24 hours, from the controls carried out by the Operational Unit of the Traffic Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Traffic Police Commissariat in DVP Tirana and with the Traffic Police Sectors in 11 Local Police Directorates in national road axes and urban centers, As a result of the use of radars, draggers and cameras, many drivers who were speeding, driving while intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol, violating traffic lights or using a mobile phone while driving, who did not wear a seat belt were identified and punished. and performed dangerous maneuvers or overtaking on the road.

8 drivers were arrested in flagrante delicto, of which 5 for drunk driving and 3 for driving without a driving license.

A total of 57 driving licenses have been suspended, of which:

38 for driving a vehicle with speed beyond the allowed norms that varied from 74 km / h in urban centers in Kamza up to 180 km / h, 20-year-old F.SH., who was detected by radar on the interurban road Tirana-Durres , on the Maminas-Durrës axis.

19 Driving license for driving under the influence of alcohol or in a state of intoxication up to 0.62 mg / l found in Tirana, where the driver of the vehicle, citizen A.LL, performed dangerous maneuvers on the road and as a result went off the road and has collided with the perimeter wall of a building.

Also, 2482 drivers were punished with administrative measures, for violations of the Road Code that pose a potential risk for involvement in road events, namely:

412 administrative measures for mobile phone use while driving, 324 measures for non-use of seat belts, 746 measures for speeding, dangerous road maneuvers and speeding, especially in residential areas, 178 measures for non-use of vehicles helmet in two-wheeled vehicles, 711 measures for incorrect overtaking and 111 measures for not maintaining the safety distance between vehicles.

Currently, the return of vacationers from the coastal areas in the direction of Tirana and Morina has started and for this reason in all road axes there is an increased flow, but flowing and without interruption.

The Traffic Police appeals to all drivers to respect the rules, not to make wrong overtaking, to stand in line on the axes where the traffic is flowing but slow, not to move fast and not to use the mobile phone while driving, as and invites citizens to report to the Digital Commissariat and the emergency number 112, any illegality.
