A doctor has shared a video that shows the moment when he squeezes the filler from a woman’s lips after they were damaged.
Dr Esho, dubbed the “Lip Doctor”, said the video shows the dangers of lip fillers and how the procedure, which has become popular in the UK, can go terribly bad for many patients.
He believes the widespread use of lip fillers, driven by real television stars and social media influencers is coming to an end, as people under 18 are now banned from applying fillers and botox.
In his Instagram video, the side of the woman’s upper lip looks swollen and Dr. Esho explodes it with a long needle. From the edge comes a white mass, which is the filler injected incorrectly.
There is a complete lack of a legal framework of standards around non-surgical aesthetic treatments, which has left consumers at risk, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Beauty, Aesthetics and Welfare (APPG) revealed.
Dr Esho said many people do not do research before doing their lips and a combination of poor technique and unregulated products can lead to damaged lips.
He told the Sun: Lumpy lips are one of the biggest problems people come to me with, and lip cysts can develop from filler that is placed very superficially. Lip filling cysts can become infected or form a foreign body reaction, both of which can cause the cysts to increase in size.
