Miss Universe Kosova, Tuti Sejdiu has shocked the media in Albania and Kosovo with her painful childhood story. She confessed how she was taken at the age of 13 and raped and trafficked by several people.
In a recent interview for “Prive”, she revealed that the trafficking was done by a neighbor who took her to Kosovo to traffic her in Serbia. Miss Universe Kosova has shown that on the eighth day after the abduction, Interpol rescued her and sent her to Kosovo.
“My neighbor raped me and trafficked me from Kosovo to Serbia. At that time I was a 13-year-old child and I did not understand everything and I do not know the Serbian language and I did not know it even then. In those moments I realized that something was wrong.
But on the 8th day, when I went to Serbia, Interpol rescued me and brought me to Kosovo with my family. I have closed that chapter, I do not deal with the past, I am only fighting for justice. When Interpol picked me up it took me to a rehab center and then my family came and picked me up. But to get through those days and those years I had to make a lot of sacrifices to overcome these challenges. “But the challenges make you very strong”, Sejdiu confessed.
She also has a response to critics who accuse her of telling this story to gain fame and victimization. “I told the life story for two reasons: my father who asked for justice and to tell all women that we should not be silent, but keep our heads up and talk,” he said.she said.
