The Holy Mosque of Mecca, for the first time has part of its security female soldiers, who monitor the pilgrims in the birthplaces of Islam, Mecca and Medina.
The youngest soldier is Mona, who decided to join the military group of women in Saudi Arabia and was inspired by the career of her late father. Dressed in a military uniform, with a long jacket, loose trousers and a black beret over a headscarf covering her hair, Mona performs services at the holy site of Mecca.
“I am following in the footsteps of my late father to complete his journey, standing here in the Great Mosque in Mecca, the holiest place. To serve worshipers is a very noble and honorable duty,Said Mona.
