A heroic act of an Austrian man who saved the life of a Turkish couple in the Austrian city of Hallein.
Hallein, a town near the border with Germany, was one of the worst hit by floods this week.
According to Turkish media, when the rains caused floods in the city, Salih and Ayşe Karaaslan found themselves faced with a difficult choice: to cross the road where their restaurant was located to reach a safe place when the floods began to flood the country or stood there.
They decided to cross the raging waters, but were taken by the flow of water.
At that moment, their neighbor Alexander Eisenmann jumped into the water and dragged the couple to a safe place after a heavy battle.
The rescue video was shared by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kıran, who also wrote a message of thanks in German.
“Eisenmann’s heroic deed, born of humanitarian responsibility, is commendable. We give the most heartfelt thanks “, Kıran wrote on Twitter.
