The shootings near the White House in Washington have alarmed people nearby.
One person was reportedly shot 20 times and two bullets caught two people believed to be ‘targets’ for the perpetrator.
The incident took place outside a restaurant in an area of Washington DC, about a mile (1.5 km) from the White House.
Witnesses said the gunman drove away after shooting at a Mexican restaurant in the Logan Circle area.
The perpetrator has not yet been arrested by the police, but the search for him is ongoing. All persons who witnessed the attack have been questioned by the police.
