4 members of a family were injured this morning by the explosion of
gas of a cooking bottle, in one of the beach hotels of Velipoja.
The event happened around 06:45, on the first floor of the hotel “Enriko”, owned by the Gjoka family from Lezha.
Apart from the members of the Gjoka family, there were no other people in the hotel, as the hotel had just started preparations for the reception of vacationers.
The local police announced that 4 members of the Gjoka family were injured in the gas explosion; mother and her three children aged 19, 15 and 12 years.
Due to the numerous burns, the injured were first taken to the Shkodra Regional Hospital and, later, to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana for a more specialized treatment.
Firefighters, who went to the scene found, in the premises where it happened
explosion, 5 more gas cylinders.
This is the second case of a gas explosion on the beach of Velipoja. Four more years
seen, from the explosion of a large gas cylinder, in one of the restaurants of
“Fishta” tourist complex, the owner of the restaurant and his son died, as
and two others were injured.
