An unusual event took place in Sardinia, Italy, where a package of cocaine fell from the sky as in the Narcos TV series about trafficker Pablo Escobar.
These scenarios were commonplace in the 1980s when traffickers shipped drugs by plane to the United States, but it seems that this method is still active today. This time the scene was repeated in Italy. An Italian trafficker used a plane to drop drugs on the island, but it went bad.
He was tracked down by Oristano carabinieri and arrested. The investigation began a few months ago, when investigators discovered a rather unusual way in which the trafficker had brought the drugs to Sardinia.
The release of a drug shipment from the sky took place in Baratici San Pietro, in the Oristano area on March 28th. 8.5 kg of cocaine for a value of over 9 million euros, fell from the sky on the roof of a private house and not in the hands of traffickers.
And it is precisely this mistake in hitting the ‘target’ that triggered the investigations of the carabinieri who with the last operation ‘Fly Down’ identified the pilot who threw the bag full of drugs. The 28-year-old FR ended up in handcuffs, while in his past he was completely clean.
