On Wednesday Twitter announced that it would cancel one of the features it recently implemented to compete with Snapchat and Instagram.
It is about Fleets and the decision came at a time when it was reported that Twitter was experimenting with implementing ads within them.
Thus Twitter would have monetized Fleets posts and content.
Twitter launched Fleet in November 2020. Users could post full-screen photos, videos, or tweet reactions and automatically delete after 24 hours.
Fleets came a year after the debut of similar options from Snapchat and Facebook. Their purpose was to encourage users to post more. / PCWorld Albanian
