The 6th Ward of Koridallos Prison has been in the spotlight recently due to “VIP” prisoners serving sentences inside the cell.
The “light” of funsmi publicity is focused on the 49-year-old who stole the works of Picasso and Montrian from the National Gallery. Artfreak shares the same yard with Menia Fourthioti and Babis Anagnostopoulos, Caroline Crouch’s killer. A Civil Defense Ministry official who was asked about the choice to hold “famous” prisoners on Korydallos’ 6th Wing said it was an election as that area was more controlled than the other.
“Their cases were widely reported in the media and so a more controlled environment was chosen, at least for the first months of their detention, in order to ensure that there would be no unpleasant events.”
But this area also has its problems. As the sources explain to the Greek media, there are many who try to shoot photos or videos of “famous” prisoners. The latest case occurred with Fourthiotis, who saw an unknown person trying to take a picture of him while standing in the prison yard.
The well-known presenter protested and demanded additional measures to protect his privacy, while there are many who “follow” Babis Anagnostopoulos to take a photo or video.
