Storms and torrential rains have hit the regions of Northern Italy today, especially in Piedmont. Bad weather also caused problems in the afternoon for a flight from Milan airport to New York.
The Boeing 777 -31H started the climb but when it reached Lake Orta it demanded a quick return to Malpensa. The pilot tried to land twice on the runway, managing to “park” only at 18:00.
As can be seen from the footage, the entire first part of the plane, along with the glass, were almost crushed by the hail. However the pilot decided to return to Malpensa thus avoiding a tragedy.
