Managers are the highest paid professionals in European Union countries according to Eurostat. Referring to the publication for 2018 that included the countries of the region Albania and Serbia, it turns out that in these countries managers are paid an average of 28.6 euros per hour, followed by professionals.
But, while in the European Union a manager is paid an average of 28.6 euros per hour, their colleagues in Albania are paid many times less with only 4.45 euros per hour.
Not only for leading positions, but Albania has the lowest average hourly wage among European countries and for professionals who in the country are paid an average of 3.12 euros / hour, while in the EU this indicator reaches 21.36 euros per hour.
Sanitary workers, helpers, other service sales workers or other basic jobs are also paid less in our country with only 1.48 euros per hour, while the average for the same professions in the EU reaches 9.6 euros per hour.
Although according to Eurostat these result in the lowest paid professions in these EU countries, still according to the data they get almost twice as many managers in our country.
But, Albania is far below the level of salaries even compared to the countries of the region for almost all sectors, with an average salary of 440 euros in 2020, while in other Western Balkan countries the average salary exceeds 600 euros.
