TikTok social network users can now post longer videos. The maximum limit is now 3 minutes from the 1 minute it had been before.
TikTok grew in popularity due to the short video format but is expected to change soon. TikTok launched the idea for longer videos since December 2020 and later began testing three-minute videos.
Longer videos will become more creative and users can add content to tutorials, tutorials or even comedies.
Currently the 1 minute limit forced creators to divide their works into several parts. Not only was it frustrating for them, but also for the users to have to find the continuation of the clip.
On the other hand it is a clear signal of competition from TikTok towards rivals who have started to create their own copies of the Tiktok format.
