Three rockets hit the Afghan capital on Tuesday ahead of a speech by President Ashraf Ghani marking the start of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Foreign media reports that according to the Interior Ministry it is learned that the missiles were fired around 8:00 am (0330 GMT), where they were heard throughout the fortified Green Zone housing the presidential palace and several embassies, including the US mission. -së.
“Today, the enemies of Afghanistan launched rocket attacks on various parts of the city of Kabul. The rockets hit three different parts. Based on our initial information, we have no casualties. “Our team is investigating.” said Interior Ministry spokesman Mirëais Stanikzai.
Minutes after the attack, Ghani began a speech to the nation in the presence of some of his senior officials.
Rockets have been aimed at the palace several times in the past, the last being in December. The attack coincides with a sweeping Taliban offensive across the country as foreign forces complete a troop withdrawal scheduled to end by 31 August.
