The pandemic situation in our country has marked significant improvements, where the numbers of infected, intubated in hospitals but also of victims due to COVID have marked significant reductions, so much so that the Technical Committee of Experts is considering easing measures such as removal of masks outdoors or removal of curfew.
Deputy Minister of Health, Eugena Tomini told Report Tv that from the end of May it can be discussed to ease the measures given the current situation, however it is still early to speak as the situation should be seen in dynamics.
“We would all like a relief of the masses, however we should be happy with the fact that Albania has been with moderate measures and the pandemic has progressed to low levels as we are currently. At the end of May we hope to ease the measures on schedule or even for businesses. Until now we will continue with these measures. “I would prefer a relief in terms of masks kept outdoors, however we must be reserved towards the situation as Europe has just been relieved of the pandemic and we believe that at the end of May there may be relief,” said Tomini.
Regarding the delay created for receiving the second doses of the Sinovac vaccine, Tomini clarified that with the arrival of the new doses yesterday of 60 thousand doses of Sinovac and the reception of another 500 thousand doses by the contracting company, the vaccination will continue. massive.
Tomini said the second dose of the vaccine will start where it was suspended and that these people will be notified by the family doctor to decide when and where they should go for it. Tomini clarified that the second dose can not be done ahead of time, but there is no problem if it is done later.
“It will be operated with all the incoming doses versus the second doses applied to the population, there was a small cramp here. Any individual who has waited for the second dose to do Sinovac should contact their family doctor where they will be headed and the day they will do it. It is very important that the second dose cannot be applied before the recommended date, but after this date there is no problem. “Based on a certain schedule, the citizens will be notified by the family doctor to receive the second dose”, said Tomini.
According to Tomin, 22-23% of the population has been vaccinated with one dose so far and 11% with two doses of the vaccine.
