The case of the murder of Armando Beqiri in Iceland went to court this Tuesday morning. Local media have reported that there are 4 people who have been taken as defendants, while the main perpetrator of this murder is accused of being the Albanian Angjelin Sterkaj who is also behind bars.
Along with Sterkaj, 3 men aged 30-40 and a girl in her 20s are also charged.
The indictments were issued following one of the most extensive criminal investigations in Icelandic history. On February 13, Armando Beqirai was shot dead outside his home. He was caught by 9 pistol bullets.
The police investigation quickly focused on settlements between criminal groups and many were arrested for the purpose of the investigation. Earlier there were 14 suspects in the case.
Meanwhile, the main perpetrator, Angelin Sterkaj, admitted during interrogation that he had killed Armando.
In addition to him, three others have been charged with murder, Claudia Sofia Coelho Carvalho, Murat Selivrada and Shpëtim Qerimi. The indictment describes how they followed Armando’s trips on the eve of the murder and sat in front of him outside his house in Rauðagerði to observe him.
But how did the murder take place and how were the other detainees involved?
One of the defendants showed the arrested 20-year-old the two cars owned by Armando, and asked him to report to him on Messenger for any movement of vehicles.
Two other people followed one of the cars in the neighborhood where the Albanian lived. After receiving the information one of the perpetrators came out and shot Armando to death.
