According to the projection of the Institute of Health Data at the University of Washington in the US, Albania is expected to face another wave of pandemics in October-November.
According to the institute, the October wave will not be with the intensity of November-December (2020) or February-March (2021), however it is a situation that will test the country’s health system again.
Pandemic projection in Albania, according to the Health Data Institute
According to this projection, during October Albania can go under normal conditions up to an average of 14 deaths per day and in extreme conditions up to 20 deaths per day. In terms of active cases, the projection goes from 5,300 in normal conditions to 7,100 in extreme conditions.
According to this institute, the risk is minimized if the government again decides to keep forced masks outdoors and indoors where the number of deaths decreases to 1-2 per day and that of active cases between 510-530 such. So far in Albania the “Delta” variant has not been confirmed, however in recent days there has been a slight increase in cases.
