If the weapon found in his hand was missing, no one would talk about the suicide of businessman Stavros Dogiakis and the authorities would ask who and why was executed with two bullets, one in the head and one in the heart. But the point that raises suspicions to the Police are the two notes he left in handwriting from behind where he also justified the act of suicide and left the last wills.
In the letter, he wrote that he left his brother, Nikos, the sole heir to his fortune in an extremely lucrative tavern in Kantza, which in just one weekend circulated more than 30,000 euros. Stavros also sold his share to his brother for 650,000 euros, dispelling suspicions of financial difficulties.
But when they had closed the accounts and sold his share of the tavern to him, why did he worry at the last minute that this might be called into question? Why did he leave that box with the “substantial” amount of money?
On the other hand, the forensic expertise leaves no room for doubt: Stavros Dogiakis committed suicide, he was not killed. According to the expertise, despite the shock he logically suffered from the first blow, he had the mental clarity, courage and composure to realize that it was not enough to kill himself. So he raised his weapon again and shot himself in the head.
Stavros Dogiakis had no history of mental disorders and did not suffer from depression. Therefore, the possible remaining reasons to explain his work are not numerous. An intelligent and agile person does not commit suicide suddenly unless he is obedient. Debts, a very serious health problem, a great love disappointment, the risk of being punished, etc., these are the most common reasons that cause suicide. But none of them fit the case of Stavros Dogiakis. And yet, so it happened, Stavros committed suicide.
