The Church of Laç or the Church of “Shna Ndoit” is considered one of the holiest places in our country and thousands of citizens make a pilgrimage to this country.
In 1981, a group of soldiers from the Droja platoon in Laç went to tear down the rest of the siege, in the Church of “St. Ndoi”. For the first time, the collapse took place in 1967, when the communist state of that time declared war on religion.
Although part of the building had partially collapsed, worshipers over the years were still leaving, which was a concern for the regime. For this reason, the soldiers were ordered to destroy the walls so that no one would think of making a pilgrimage.
After tearing down part of the siege, the 32-member platoon remained paralyzed from the bottom down inexplicably. Some soldiers were sent by the popular government of the time for treatment in Austria, for 6 months, while others to the Military Hospital of Tirana.
All were left with consequences, rising to their feet only after a long intensive treatment. The phenomenon remained unexplained and shrouded in mystery.
The story quickly spread to Lac, proving to be something mystical. The government of that time said that the food was to blame for the unusual event, as a result of a poisoning, but this fact was never scientifically accepted. History is still shrouded in mystery, even to this day.
