68% of the citizens of the Western Balkans think that the laws are not implemented effectively. These are the latest data published by the “Balkan Barometer”.
Parliament and the courts are the least trusted public institutions in the Western Balkans. 61% of citizens do not trust these institutions.
The level of distrust in governments is also high. 57% of citizens do not trust them. About 50% of them do not even trust the institutions of audit.
Corruption remains one of the biggest problems in the Western Balkans. This is seen in the perception of the citizens of these countries, on the level of corruption in public administration and services.
78% of them think that political parties are corrupt. 76% have the same opinion about the judicial system. 75% of the citizens of the Western Balkans think that the customs are caught up in corruption.
For 74% of them, this phenomenon is also encountered by health care providers. 71% of the citizens of these countries say that the assembly of the elected by the people, the parliament, is corrupt.
The Balkan Barometer is the annual public opinion poll commissioned by the Regional Cooperation Council for socio-economic and political assessment as well as regional and European integration for the six Western Balkan countries, including Albania.
