The Vatican Church, in 1735, as a sign of gratitude donated the Holy Gospel to the Preçi family from Mirdita. 96-year-old Pjetër Gjon Preçi says that this gospel was given to his grandfather, 286 years ago, after he helped build the Catholic church in Blinisht.
“The gospel came after my grandfather built the church, donated it to the Vatican.”

For the 96-year-old believer, this is the gospel of miracles.
The house of this family has been burned twice by fire, but the only thing that has escaped the flames has been the holy book.
“The house burned down, and immediately we asked about the gospel. Was he inside? Yes, after we put out the fire we went and saw that the gospel was unburned, in the middle of the house. So our house was on fire again, and this time everything turned to ashes and the gospel, nothing was ever found. ”
