Kosovo Ambassador to Montenegro Ylber Hysa congratulated Montenegrin director Velibora Covic, who won an award at the New York Film Festival (IFFNY 2021) on the theme of Kosovo Albanian refugees in 1999.
Covic’s film is about the drama of refugees who found refuge in Montenegro, when nearly 100,000 people fled Kosovo to the neighboring state.
The director was introduced to a feature film / documentary, entitled “I had ten years” (Imala sam 10 godina).
“Imala sam 10 godina” was presented within the official program “Filmmaker” of the festival, which was held from 21 to 24 May.
The producer of the film is the company “A Production” from Podgorica, supported by the Film Center and the Fund for Minority Rights of Montenegro, but also assisted by Radio Television Kosovo.
“I was 10 years old” was presented a year ago at the film festival in the Montenegrin capital.
In addition to congratulations, Hysa also thanked director Covic for “the artistic enterprise and dedication that for years collected materials and presented the tragedy of Kosovars and their shelter in Montenegro.”
