Today, at ten o’clock, the last session of this Parliament will be held, while almost half of the deputies say “goodbye” to the Assembly. Anticipated as an additional parliamentary session, its agenda contains several important items, starting with the election of the new head of the Audiovisual Media Authority (AMA).
In fact, the agenda lists not a few but nine issues for reporting, discussion and decisions. The most important point is the discussion on the draft decision “On the election of the chairman of the Audiovisual Media Authority”.
The two candidacies to take over the leadership of the AMA, Mrs. Armela Krasniqi and Mrs. Alkete Dibra, will present to the deputies their program for the management of this institution. At the end of the discussion, the deputies, almost half of whom will no longer be citizens’ representatives in Parliament, will elect the new head of the AMA.
The Commission responsible for Education and the Media will also speak at the session. In today’s session will be reported the annual activity of the People’s Advocate for 2020.
The People’s Advocate, Erinda Ballanca, will report to the legislators on the work of the institution she leads for the past year.
Also, for today is foreseen the “Reporting of the annual activity of the Department of Public Administration for 2020”, as well as “Reporting of the activity of the Institute of Studies on the Crimes and Consequences of Communism in Albania for 2020”.
In the Assembly hall will also be discussed the draft law “On some changes and additions to law no. 9947, dated 7.7.2008 ‘On industrial property’ amended “.
Another important item on the agenda is the discussion on the draft decision “On the election of alternate members for the positions of Commissioner of the Independent Qualification Commission and Public Commissioner”.
As this will be the last time they will have the opportunity to speak from the rostrum of the Assembly, some of the deputies will deliver the “farewell” speech.
It is possible that some will use it to take photos to keep as a memory and some others can follow it from their cell phone from a beach after taking a vacation.
Today’s session closes an unprecedented legislature, which began with the leaving of mandates by the opposition, the introduction in the Assembly of candidates from the bottom of the lists of opposition parties and finally, the vote with 104 votes for the dismissal of the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, for the first time seen in the history of political pluralism.
