The Ambassador of Germany in our country, Peter Zingraf, refused to speak about the decision of DASH, which declared former Prime Minister Sali Berisha a person “non grata”. From Korça, the senior diplomat when asked by journalists said: “I have no comment, I am here for this important project.”
As for the issue of Albania’s negotiations with the EU, Zingraf spoke on behalf of the German government and said that Albania has met the conditions, but decision-making in the EU is common.
“Let me say that I hope that the membership talks will start as soon as possible. Projects such as today lead to the achievement of EU standards.
Experts judge that in terms of adapting the standards, two-thirds should be done at the local level and the rest at the central level.
Let me say on behalf of the federal government that I am allowed to speak about, the federal government has said that the conditions for starting negotiations have already been met. “I am optimistic about the opening of negotiations, but we must keep in mind that we need the understanding of all member states.”, said among other things the ambassador.
