Rubicon, an Albanian fintech company that offers financial solutions and is developing a payment processing network, raised an investment of 450 thousand euros.
The investment raised by a group of Albanian investors, Navy Yard Capital LLC and APC Integrated in the US will be used to accelerate the business plan, the company said.
In a press release, the founder of Rubicon, Dr. Armand Brahaj said that “Considering the digital revolution of the last 20 years and following the growing attraction of new banks like Revolut, Number 26, Monzo but also payment solutions like WePay and Venmo around the world, the time has come for Albania and the region to benefit as well. from similar innovations.”
Rubicon operates under the trademark Pago and will be licensed as an Electronic Money Institution by the Central Bank of Albania.
Founded in September 2020, Rubicon came with the goal of creating an electronic money institution. Part of the company’s activity are also consulting services and implementation of fintech solutions.
The company with headquarters in Tirana aims to expand in the near future with its presence in other cities in Albania. Rubicon currently operates all online without branches and agents. / PCWorld Albanian
