Gazmend Aga: Let us celebrate by making other people happy. God loves the believer who does not forget his neighbor, neighbor and the needy. Let us express our devotion by sacrificing for His sake.
WATERBURY CT: In Waterbury – Connecticut, hundreds of Albanian Muslim believers celebrated Eid al-Adha at the Albanian American Muslim Community Mosque.
Endrit Himaj, deputy imam in this community, gave the lecture before the Eid prayer. He spoke of the importance of maintaining a relationship with God not only in such cases but throughout life. Sincerity in this relationship with God will also determine the fruits of the worship of the believers. Forgiveness for each other is one of the goals of Eid, stressed Himaj.
Imam Gazmend Aga -, representative of the Albanian Muslim community for the USA, head of the Imam Mosque, delivered the prayer and the lecture of Eid al-Adha.
Imam Gazmend Aga in his speech spoke about the importance of Eid al-Adha as a sign of devotion to God through sacrifice. He stressed that Eid should be the beginning of a healthy relationship with God and people.
“True Eid is when the believer is closer to God and people. True Eid is to help people in need regardless of religion, color and race. True Eid is to pray. “The real Eid is to visit relatives and help them.”
A special prayer was made on this occasion for Albania to become a country from which the Albanian youth not only do not leave, but also those who have left return. Because Albania is a country that God blessed with rare beauty and that does not amaze only Albanians but all visitors. He also prayed for Albanians in all Albanian territories and around the world for more unity, solidarity and love for each other.
Imam Gazi closed his prayer with a blessing for Albania as our motherland and for the USA as the home of thousands of Albanians where the language and tradition are preserved, where property and family are enjoyed, where free speech and religion is sacred.
In the end, the Mosque on this occasion had prepared beautiful Eid gifts for the children of this community which increased their joy even more in this holiday.
As on other occasions, this year the believers visited the graves of their relatives on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
