The Europa League final between Villarreal and Manchester United ended in a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes and consequently the challenge went to extra time.
The match was unlocked in the 29th minute. It was the Spaniards who took the lead with Moreno. The 29-year-old surprised the English defense and easily punished De Gea. The first half closes 1-0 for Villarreal.
The Red Devils equalized in the 55th minute with Edinson Cavani, who took advantage of a mess in the penalty area. At the age of 34, Cavani scored for the first time in the final of a major European competition, becoming the oldest player to score for United.
Manchester United then misused a clear opportunity to take advantage of Villarreal. Marcus Rashford got an accurate pass from Bruno Fernandes into the penalty area, but missed two steps away from the goal.
