Spain wins on penalties against Switzerland – European dream for Shaqiri and Xhaka ends

Spain and Switzerland closed the regular time and the continuation with a draw (1-1) in the first quarterfinal of Euro 2020, while the penalties decided the winner, which in this case turned out to be Spain with a score of 3-1.

Spain started the match against Switzerland very well, in the quarterfinals of Euro 2020.

Not because in the 9th minute came the goal for the Spaniards. After a corner kick, the ball went wide of the post, going to Jordi Albas’s feet.

The left defender shot towards the goal, but his shot was deflected by Denis Zakaria to end up in the net for 1-0.

Cesar Azpilicueta had a good second chance in the 25th minute, but the Swiss goalkeeper caught the ball after his shot.

Switzerland had several half-times in the final minutes, but failed to seriously endanger the goal of Unai Simon.
