Serbian citizens have recently spent staggering sums in Greece buying property and real estate and this trend is expanding.
Serbian media report that the value of properties on the Greek coast is very high but still prices are lower than in Belgrade but also profitable, while the thing to be careful in this part are the cost after purchase such as taxes and utilities.
According to real estate agencies in Greece, the average price per square meter of apartments in Thessaloniki is around 1,400 euros. In the suburbs, it is even cheaper – about 1,000 euros per square meter, while for the most luxurious duplexes in the city center, it is necessary to allocate up to 3,000 euros per square meter.
In tourist places, prices are somewhat different, so for a 60 square meter apartment in Pefkohori, about 1,416 euros per square meter should be left, ie. total 85,000 euros. It should be added that in this case it is a fully furnished apartment only 300 meters from the shore. On the other hand in Paralia, for an apartment overlooking the sea 52 square meters, about 70,000 euros should be set aside.
According to experts, there are several reasons why our citizens decide to buy apartments in Greece. Most of them are holiday homes, but the number of those who buy apartments in Thessaloniki for the children who will study there is also considerable, as well as those who invest in real estate to rent.
The agency, which has been selling real estate in Greece for many years, says most of the buyers are family people, and the structure of the apartments for sale is mostly one-bedroom and one-bedroom, with an area of about 40 meters squares. Most seek apartments near the sea and beaches, at a distance of up to 200 meters, although there are those who do not think it to be much more.
