A provocative action took place in the observation tower in Koshare where a Serbian flag was placed among the many torn red and black flags.
This is a photo taken just days after the 22nd anniversary of the end of one of the most glorious KLA battles in the country, depicting the embarrassing state of the watchtower, topped by the Serbian flag.
The news was also published in the Serbian media and on an Instagram page by Serbs, showing the Serbian flag waving in the ruins of the watchtower.
“The real flag in the watchtower”, is written, among other things, in the description below the photo.
The Battle of Koshare was one of the bloodiest and most successful battles of the Kosovo war. It took place in April and June 1999 as part of Operation Arrow, between the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the Serbian Army. In this battle, the Serbian army lost control of the Kosovo-Albania border, marking one of the greatest victories for the Kosovo Liberation Army, forcing Serb soldiers to leave the border and enabling the safe passage of weapons and volunteers. from Albania to Kosovo.
The Battle of Koshare lasted from April 9 to June 10, 1999, when the Kumanovo Agreement was signed, which ended the war.
In October last year, a similar incident occurred at the Koshare watchtower. A Serbian priest had removed the red and black flag from the tower. Kosovo Police later dealt with the case, while the Organization of KLA War Veterans had reacted to the event, demanding responsibility from the country’s institutions.
After that, a former KLA member had gone and restored the national flag to the top of the tower.
