The South American Football Confederation stripped Colombia of the right to host the Latin American Cup this summer, which runs from June 11 to July 10. This is due to the riots that have been created in Colombia by political protests.
After postponing this competition for a year due to the pandemic, the Colombian state thus loses the opportunity to be the host country of this event in 2021, as it will host half of the matches in its 4 stadiums.
The Colombian government had requested that the matches of this competition be postponed to November, but the Latin American confederation could not do so, explaining that it was impossible due to the international calendar of matches.
At the moment, the organizer place of the Copa America remains only Argentina with its 4 stadiums, but the competition will not take place all in this country. It is announced that this competition will normally take place on the set dates but in another South American country to be selected in the coming days. Uruguay is the most curved at the moment.
