The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu has inspected the old beach center in Durrës, one of the 29 summer health centers open for vacationers along the tourist areas.
“From June 15 until today there are more than 14 thousand visits and services that are offered to local and foreign vacationers. There are more than 10 thousand local vacationers who have received services in these summer health centers, while more than 4 thousand are foreign vacationers, tourists, who have come and received free services in these centers “, said Manastirliu .
The Minister of Health said that the program of summer health centers has greatly facilitated the work in hospitals.
“This program, already operational for 7 years, has greatly facilitated the work in hospitals. Because all this large influx of patients who have received services, have not gone to the doors of hospitals, but have received these services near rest areas. “Summer health centers have increased in number year after year, covering with services even those previously uncovered areas”, said Manastirliu.
During the inspection at the summer health center in Durrës, Manastirliu said that the focus is on continuing the vaccination program, in order to increase vaccine coverage.
“For several days and throughout the week we have enabled the vaccination to be carried out at the age of +18, in every health center and in every point of concentrated vaccination and also through mobile vaccination units, which are already in the whole country”, said Manastirliu, calling on citizens to be vaccinated as soon as possible, to protect themselves from Covid19.
About 130 doctors and nurses at summer health centers provide 24/7 emergency service at 29 tourist spots from north to south. Covid19 rapid test is also provided free of charge at every summer health center, with the aim of early identification and isolation of suspected cases of dangerous virus.
