Prime Minister Edi Rama, in his speech before teachers, stated that his government will keep its promise to increase teachers’ salaries by 40 percent, within this mandate.
“The salary increase for you of 40 percent will stay until the end within this mandate. Teachers today work in much better conditions, but there are also schools that need to be rebuilt. Give students more craft and practice, to have a craft in the future. We will introduce English from the first grade. We do this so that Albanian and English are two languages, to be recognized by the children of Albania. We have teachers who are better than the principals. The same thing we do with teachers, do the same with principals. “Directors should not be a monopoly of deputies and mayors”, said Rama.
Edi Rama said that society respects teachers, with their contribution to every challenge and difficulty for teaching.
“Precious respect for the teachers who taught in pandemic times, challenged every difficulty. I am grateful to them and the whole society also thanks those teachers, who worked day and night and were made available to the students. This was a job that also served many teachers. Today we are coming out of the pandemic tunnel and the work has been done with so much pace and efficiency. We have been facing for years the disturbing phenomenon of collective schools. Online learning can not replace direct learning. But, online learning is definitely an added game “, declared Rama.
Further, Rama also spoke about the directors, saying that they will be more careful with the appointments of the directors, so that they are not dependent on the deputies or political officials.
“I am proud of the teachers in Albania, not so proud of the school principals. I am proud to have calm teachers, in relation to the right to practice the profession, undisturbed by politics or other things, that have hindered your work. Teachers are not moved by the workplace arbitrarily. We will continue to elevate the image of the teacher. By work, you have shown a degree of citizenship in relation to people, because it has been work upon work. This work did not have any special reward, except for the food that the teacher constantly feeds, because it is a light scattering. We do not forget the obligation to increase the reward towards you “, concluded Rama.
